I just received these boots with the "flatter grip" rubber sole. They are very well made, I think they will be very comfortable after a few weeks. The flatter grip sole is great because they have some grip and still look good as a dress shoe. The rugged soles are thick combat and the leather soles don't have any grip, I wanted something in between. I can tell the leather will mold beautifully to my foot. Couple issues, a boot eyelet fell off after about 5 minutes of wearing them, I was very disappointed about that, at this price everything should be perfect. But it's an easy fix. Another issue is that there isn't much padding on the inside so you are going to most likely need an insole. Problem is that you can only put a very thin insole inside, otherwise there isn't enough room for your toes. These are great for dress shoes and every day walking around. All that aside, Indy is wonderful to deal with, if you are planning on getting a pair of these, I highly recommend them!
