Exactly 3 weeks and 2 days after ordering the bag + strap arrived. Not bad at all for a trip from down under to Belgium. The bag probably has more mileage then me:-) It was packaged nice and tight, no damages. Now for the bag itself: it feels like it will last for years. Quality finished. The leather belt (ordered seperately) feels a bit stiff, but daily use will soon remediate that. The only thing left to do is convince my friends it is a man bag not a purse. As usual they will soon ask where I got it from .....so get ready for more orders, Magnoli :-)

I ordered this bag because I wanted something I could use every day, and the original Mark VII satchels are--well, they're 70 years old, and often somewhat less than sturdy. This bag is accurate to the originals in every detail, down to the stamp on the flap and the patina on the metal disc, without the mildew smell and are much better made. And to my eye, the olive color is perfect. Leave the originals as the historic artifacts they are, and get one of these. You won't regret it. Pair it with the deluxe strap (made by Wade Egan and a thing of beauty in its own right), and you'll have something that is both functional and attractive. I've been told mine is "understated and very classy!" Doesn't get much better than that... Additionally, the shipping from New Zealand to the US took less than two weeks, and it arrived in splendid condition. I'm thinking of ordering another one, just to have it on hand. I'd been looking for a good bag to replace my original MK VII bag for a while now, as the ones I've had, had the same problem: they're 70 some years old and the O ring straps kept falling apart. So, I decided to retire my last bag before it fell apart completely and bought it here from Indy (his name is Indy, after all). Ordered it, about a week and a half later, it shows up. I opened it and I got what I paid for: a good bag. It's the right size, shape, et al. The only downside is that it is not an olive green color like Mr. Ford slug around in Raiders and Temple, but more a deep khaki akin to Last Crusade and/or Crystal Skull (if I recall spotting correctly). Being that you can get an exact bag online elsewhere for roughly the same price, I wouldn't see the harm in having two variants for this bag: a version A with the olive green seen in Raiders/Temple, and version B with the deep khaki in Last Crusade/Crystal Skull. The reason I didn't just up and by another original MK VII bag was that I knew it was going to fall apart sometime in the future, not by wear, but just by time. It'd be an ideal world where you can get something that not only looked right (not saying that this isn't right or anything) but also lasted. Alas, as I've learned recently; you can't have your cake and eat it, too.

Got the bag (and strap!) in the mail exactly two weeks to the day after it was shipped. It is absolutely gorgeous and I adore it! Not only that, but Indy Magnoli was both prompt and happy to answer any questions I had about the bag. This is the first of what I know will be many purchases from Magnoli!

I purchased my Mag-bag over 2 1/2 years ago and it's still wonderful. None of the stitching has come undone, and now it's super soft having used it every week of those 2 1/2 years. I've carried this satchel, sat on it, thrown it, slid with it down a hill, been soaked in it, replaced the strap, and it's still fantastic! If you have to think about getting one, let me give you this advice: Don't think about it. It's the best 36 bucks you'll spend in a while and you'll have it for a very long time.
