After receiving my first custom blazer from Magnoli and being wowed by it, I quickly ordered a second one (also based on one seen in the film 'LA Confidential') which arrived yesterday. The finished product is absolutely stunning, and once again the process, finish, detail and fit have far surpassed what I had expected. This is a magnificent garment...

For quite some time, I had been looking for a tailor that could accurately reproduce some of the blazers worn in the film 'LA Confidential'. I had just about given up on the project when I discovered Magnoli Clothiers. From start to finish, the process could not have gone smoother. We discussed various material and detail possibilities, and even though most of the images I was able to show him came from stills of the movie itself, Indy was able to pick out details on them that I'd never seen. From fit to finish, the result is a blazer that exceeds my expectations in every way. I look forward to working with Magnoli again in the very near future...

I watched an old series and saw a blazer which I loved. I made a lot of screenshots from the VHS tape recording and sent them to Indy. Today I got an awesome looking blazer! It's fantastic! The cut is excatly like the one in TV, the color matches greatly, the chosen fabric feels great. This is my new favourite jacket! Thank you!..

I had searched the web for years now and could not find what I was looking for. My favorite color is purple and I could not find any type of sports coat that reflected my taste. So, I contacted Magnoli and was informed of the aubergine fabric. After getting all the details for how I wanted the coat to look, it was quickly put into production. Regarding the fabric, the photo that is posted on the aubergine fabric does not to it justice. The fabric is slightly a bit darker and borderlines the eggplant purple that I love so much. The "sparkles" of red and other colors add a whimsical look as well. For the lining, I asked for the blue lining that is used on the time coat. Quite simply, if you're looking for a custom coat, just come with Magnoli. They've been able to give me quality style time after time. Oh, and they also threw in some replacement buttons for me from a previous order. Magnoli always leaves me with a smile and I know that I will always consider them as my first stop when looking for a good coat...

I spent some time (well, a long time, actually) looking for a suitable replacement to my old canvas shooting jacket. Apparently (or so I thought) they're just not made like that anymore. That was my impression for several months, until I ran across Indy's site. I figured since I was going to go all out and have a jacket made to my specifications, I took the best example I knew of- an Abercrombie and Fitch shooting jacket from the sixties made famous (or infamous) by journalist Hunter S. Thompson. I emailed Indy the specs and promptly responded that he'd see what he could do. We shot some emails back and forth discussing various modifications to my original design and I have to say I was not steered wrong. I sent in my measurements, slightly uneasy with the feeling I may have screwed something up. The same day Indy sends me an email regarding the measurements I gave him. I took another and found out I was way off. I was impressed with the concern and timely feedback. A few short weeks later and I received a wonderful garment. It's gotten me compliments everywhere-getting coffee, replacing my cellphone, at work and even just on the street. Everyone wants to know where I got it and I have to tell them- Magnoli Clothiers...

I enjoyed watching the movie Chinatown and always thought that Jake Gittes had great style. Someone posted screen-shots of one of his belted-back jackets in a thread on the Fedora Lounge and I fell in love with the jacket once again. I wrote to Indy Magnoli and asked if it would be possible to re-create the jacket. He assured me that it would and I quickly went out and had measurements taken at a local menswear store. The menswear store owner took careful measurements and recorded them for me on a printout from the Magnoli Clothiers website. I sent the measurements to Indy and he responded quickly. He immediately recognized that the armhole measurements were most likely a modern measurement and that they would not provide a true "vintage" fit. I measured several vintage jackets that I own and sure enough, the original armhole measurements were more than generous. We adjusted the armhole measurements and everything worked out perfectly. The jacket arrived ahead of schedule and I was thrilled with the fit and finish. It's a great jacket and I was excited to wear it out to dinner with my friends that evening. Thanks Indy! Barry Trub..
