Having the opportunity to meet Paul McGann this year I was very eager to cosplay the Movie Doctor he played so brilliantly back in 1996. Magnoli came up trumps with this stunning coat and it was with me in plenty of time for the event (along with the Hickock Vest which had a longer production time - check out my review of it). The sheer quality of the construction and feel of the coat is simply amazing and the fit is exactly to my measurements. Magnoli have, again, excelled themselves in the detail and quality of this piece and I have no doubt I will be wearing this outfit a lot, alongside my 6th Doctor cosplay bought from them last year...

I recently ordered this as a Custom Job, and lo and behold it's now a part of the main range! In fact I think the image you see on screen is literally the same coat that I just received in the mail today. It's turned out exactly as I asked. I'm very impressed with how it turned out and I can't wait to wear it. I can now travel back to the Old West in style, even in summer. The fabric is very lightweight and somewhat flexible, which means it won't get hot under the collar as quickly as other velvet coats and jackets tend to do. Clearly made with a Californian heatwave in mind. The buttons are there only for decorations, so you can't do them up at the front. It won't do much to keep you warm. This is not a winter coat. The lapels in particular will need ironing or flattening out as it does get rather crumpled in transit. All in all, this is a very nice piece of historical gear, time travelling gear or even wedding gear in its own right. Very comfortable and even somewhat flexible. Can be a little tight around the chest and arms, particularly with a shirt on underneath, so measure up generously in those areas. You should also allow some extra space at the sleeves for wearing a shirt with cufflinks in it. This coat is essential for any and all travelers in time who like to do it in style...
