This is a review of my newly acquired Deluxe Bullwhip from Indy Magnoli. I went with the 10' natural tan cowhide option. I am in no way a whip aficionado. I have had two other whips, but they were cheap ones from Pakistan, I decided it was finally time to take the next step and get a better quality one.

I ordered the whip on October 1st and within the same day it was shipped. Due to a misunderstanding with DHL I wasn't able to receive the whip until October 14th, but it was in the states in just a few days.

I went with this whip for a multitude of reasons. It was a budget option, it looked the part, and seemed to be constructed well according to Indy Magnoli's diagram of the whip. This is also the first item I ordered from Indy Magnoli and I was excited to finally be a patron of his, because of all the good things I've seen about his stuff on here.

Firstly, I am incredibly impressed with what I got for the price. I have generally hovered around this level of whip (_$200) for my purposes, and this seems to be one of the best ones at this price point.

Visually the whip has a loose, worn in look that looks great hanging off of the belt. Upon closer inspection I cannot spot any gaps in the outer plaiting. I was surprised at how light the natural tan was in person, but I am excited for it to age naturally. I was also surprised at how skinny the whip is, but it does look and feel right. The taper is also very good on the whip.

There were a few things that I noticed that weren't what I was expecting, but luckily they are pretty easily fixable or not that big of a deal. Most notably I was expecting the fall to be closer to the photos on the website. I was expecting a more white/ cream fall, and the ones that came with the whip were much darker. Luckily this is easy to fix. I am interested to see how the cowhide holds up for the long haul.

Finally, I was able to get some time outside and get cracking with the whip. I was surprised at how easy it was to crack for a 10' whip. It sounded great and felt really good in my hand.

In conclusion, at this price point I am incredibly impressed with what I got. It's a great looking piece and functions very well for what it is. I cannot speak to the longevity of the cowhide, but at this point I don't have any concerns about it holding up for a long time to come. Definitely worth taking a look at if you aren't ready to drop $600+ on a whip.
