Herbert Johnson Fedora (Sable)
I ordered my HJ sometime in November and it took approximately 3 months to get to my house in the UK. It's a Raiders hat in 'Idol Grab' bash and features the famous 'turn' for scene accuracy. The felt is superb and the extra work done on the stitching and pouncing is particularly well done.
This site really downplays Steve Delk's involvement in the hat's production and to be honest, that's a little unfair. The man's a superb craftsman, as well as being excruciatingly astute when it comes to shaping the hat to fit a certain scene or style. This comes from being a passionate fan of the films himself, and particularly the Raiders fedora. This means he is probably the best guy to shape this hat for you - especially if you are new to it as I am. Did I mention he designed the hats for the new film?
All in all, an excellent purchase and well worth the wait for a lid of this quality. If you want a Raiders fedora, especially a high quality rabbit HJ, this is the way to go.

My hat is a size 7 Herbert Johnson Fedora styled to resemble the hat in Raiders of the Lost Ark during the Idol Grab scene. First, there is nothing like getting a box and then opening it the first time to see the familiar HJ crest staring up at you. Awesome! Pulling the hat out of the box the first thing I noticed was how soft the rabbit feels. Very nice! Scanning the hat, it?s the nicest lid I?ve ever seen. Liner, sweatband, brim, ribbon, bow, block and bash all seem perfect. The block is a thing of beauty, tall, stovepipey awesomeness, with just a hint of mushroom. You know the still of Indiana ready to switch the idol, that?s my hat. No question. It even has (that ever so slightly towards the right ear) slight bulge where the crease meets the back of the hat. Color, the color is perfect. Rich and warm accentuated by its contrasting (and perfect) ribbon and bow with a slight flying v effect. Also, the construction is flawless with the hat feeling like it could take whatever it has to and more. This is no costume piece. It?s a real world hat. It's Indiana Jones' hat. Incredible attention to detail! Putting it on, I notice that it feels great. A hat that was perfectly tailored to the millimeter and styled to match my features. In short, the hat looks great. It?s what I?ve wanted since that first showing of Raiders so long ago, and it?ll age from what it is today, into ?a nice, old, very well loved hat?.

Hat arrived in good shape, just after Halloween. Fits pefectly, not too tight and looks amazing. Lots of care went into the upgrading of the standard HJ Poet. Love it. Thanks you Indy Magnoli for offering such excellent clothing...

This is my first Herbert Johnson, and if possible, my last. I think the workmanship on this HJ is fantastic. The fit is near perfect and the look and feel is exactly what you would hope for. If you are looking for a great Indy hat that is cast from the real thing, this is the hat for you...

What a great hat. The quality of all the extra work done to this hat is obvious at first glance. The block shape, color, ribbon, felt, and the stitching are all top notch. I can't imagine anyone buying a stock HJ after seeing this beauty! Nicely done!!..
