I also got the Commissioner Gordon glasses from the Dark Knight trilogy. I had been searching for a pair for over a decade to no avail, so I decided to go custom through Magnoli. Positives first: I was really impressed with the overall quality and finishing. The fit was also spot on for me, which is a rarity, and the build is bang on compared to the real thing. Negatives: There are two things that immediately stood out that I need mention. The first is the color. While I wasn’t expecting perfection, the color is a drastic departure from the real article. The frame front on mine is a cloudy pinkish brown compared to the crystal cool beige of the real thing. You also have the temples, which also have that pink hue, when the real thing is much more olive grey. It looks much more effeminate than it should. Lastly, one of the hinges does wiggle pretty consistently in the point where it’s inserted in the frame front. Overall, I would definitely recommend custom glasses from Magnoli. I would maintain cooperation when it comes to color options and sizing, just to be safe, but you can definitely trust getting a well built and sturdy pair of glasses that feel worth the money...

I stumbled upon the release of these about 6 years too late, and then spent the next 4 years trying to find a used pair any way i could. Finding Magnoli was 10 years in the making and its clear they took care with the craft. Super happy...

I wasn\'t trying to fight the mob, but I was wrestling with my Labrador so make sure you\'re not wearing your best pair of expensive designer glasses should you decide to do the same. Seriously though, after my original pair of Commissioner Gordon glasses broke, I spent hours on ebay, contacting opticians the world over, and was gradually losing hope of ever finding a pair again. I was gutted because, whilst I like the films, and Gary Oldman\'s convincing reading of Gotham\'s notable Ned Flanders lookalike, I liked what these glasses did for me more than anything. Hope springs eternal, so when I noticed that Mr Magnoli had started offering glasses, I got in touch and we soon set the ball rolling. It turns out this was the first custom pair that was going to be sent straight out without a prototype before a full production run but you really couldn\'t tell. I sent measurements of another pair that fit me well but I can honestly say that these fit me even better. Don\'t think I\'ve ever had a pair fit so well since I was about 13. I loved my original ˜Gordon glasses\' because they were really comfortable to wear, and these are no different making me feel as though I was putting on an old pair of slippers. I honestly felt like crying cos they felt and looked so similar to my old ones, and it felt so good to have them back. Mr Magnoli kept in touch throughout the process, offering me acetate colour options and such. This got me thinking that, whilst my original glasses ended up being marketed as the Batman glasses following the release of The Dark Knight, they weren\'t originally produced as such. I guess the point I\'m making is that whilst Mr Magnoli is at the forefront of high-end detailed movie props and clothing reproductions, if you just have a pair of glasses that you loved, and have since broke, you can actually have a new pair made so long as you can get some detailed pictures. This in and of itself is a wonderful service for the millions of us out there who need glasses day to day, and for whom choosing and wearing the right pair is very personal journey and relationship. The cost was higher than those offered on the site with a full production run, but it was certainly relative to, if not cheaper than, the price of a good pair of designer frames on the high street, which given the bespoke nature and options, is a fantastic service. Thank you so much, Mr Magnoli, for giving me my old face back!..
