Custom Blazer

I enjoyed watching the movie Chinatown and always thought that Jake Gittes
had great style. Someone posted screen-shots of one of his belted-back
jackets in a thread on the Fedora Lounge and I fell in love with the jacket
once again.

I wrote to Indy Magnoli and asked if it would be possible to re-create the
jacket. He assured me that it would and I quickly went out and had
measurements taken at a local menswear store. The menswear store owner took
careful measurements and recorded them for me on a printout from the Magnoli
Clothiers website. I sent the measurements to Indy and he responded quickly.
He immediately recognized that the armhole measurements were most likely a
modern measurement and that they would not provide a true "vintage" fit. I
measured several vintage jackets that I own and sure enough, the original
armhole measurements were more than generous. We adjusted the armhole
measurements and everything worked out perfectly.

The jacket arrived ahead of schedule and I was thrilled with the fit and
finish. It's a great jacket and I was excited to wear it out to dinner with
my friends that evening.
