I recently ordered this as a Custom Job, and lo and behold it's now a part of the main range! In fact I think the image you see on screen is literally the same coat that I just received in the mail today. It's turned out exactly as I asked. I'm very impressed with how it turned out and I can't wait to wear it.
I can now travel back to the Old West in style, even in summer. The fabric is very lightweight and somewhat flexible, which means it won't get hot under the collar as quickly as other velvet coats and jackets tend to do. Clearly made with a Californian heatwave in mind.
The buttons are there only for decorations, so you can't do them up at the front. It won't do much to keep you warm. This is not a winter coat.
The lapels in particular will need ironing or flattening out as it does get rather crumpled in transit.
All in all, this is a very nice piece of historical gear, time travelling gear or even wedding gear in its own right. Very comfortable and even somewhat flexible. Can be a little tight around the chest and arms, particularly with a shirt on underneath, so measure up generously in those areas. You should also allow some extra space at the sleeves for wearing a shirt with cufflinks in it.
This coat is essential for any and all travelers in time who like to do it in style.
